Dr.-Ing. Owen Dieleman has been a lecturer at the Institute of Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering for several years. In particular, the course Modelling of Transport Demand is one of the areas of his teaching activities.

Dr.-Ing. Owen Dieleman completed his training as a civil engineer at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. He wrote his diploma thesis at the Darmstadt traffic planning office of Prof. Retzko and Prof. Topp (now R+T Verkehrsplanung GmbH), where he worked as a project engineer for six years after graduating in 1996.

Since 2002 he has been working at ZIV – Zentrum für integrierte Verkehrssysteme GmbH, also in Darmstadt. First as a senior engineer, since 2016 he has been part of the management as an authorised signatory.

The main focus of his activities is on traffic studies for approval procedures and the development of traffic concepts for private and public clients. Modelling, assessment and optimisation of traffic flows are further focal points.

From 2010 onwards, in addition to his work at ZIV, he dedicated himself to his doctoral thesis at the Technische Universität Darmstadt, Institute of Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering. He completed his doctorate in 2016.
