In the jointly operated facility, among other things, new operating procedures are tested and research questions concerning the interface between the dispatcher and the electronic interlocking are investigated. Furthermore, tools and methods of dispatching are further developed. In teaching, the EBD is used to illustrate operational processes in the basic course of study as well as for course in the field of railway signaling technology.
