Bereits seit mehreren Jahren am Institut für Verkehrsplanung und Verkehrstechnik beschäftigt, ist Özgür Öztürk in der Lehre vorrangig in der Veranstaltung GPEK I anzutreffen. Im Rahmen des Forschungsprojekts ELISA II-B beschäftigt sich Herr Öztürk tiefgehend mit der Funktionsweise und den Auswirkungen auf Mensch und Natur des oberleitungsgebundenen Schwerverkehrs.

Özgür Öztürk, Ph.D., promovierte 2014 an der Rutgers The State University of New Jersey zum Thema „Investigating impact of work zones on crash frequency, severity and traffic“. In der Zeit vom 1. Januar bis 30. Juni 2018 unterstützte Herr Öztürk das IVV als Gastprofessor. Seit Juli 2018 ergänzt er das Team des IVV als Postdoktorand.
